"You'd be amazed at what I can handle myself against," he murmurs, enjoying the closeness between them as she plays along with what he's been doing. He likes that adventurous spirit about her.

"Nothing much. Just that I was certain you were running late because you were planning to propose tonight, but I couldn't let you do that when I have huge plans for next week," he teases, not having said anything of the sort but he can't help himself.

"Oh dear Lord, you're sick and going to give it to me," he says sounding shocked and aghast, and then he can't help himself and he winks at her though he leans in close again. "Are you up for this? I can take you home?"

He pauses before adding. "And be a gentleman even."
