In truth, he's kind of glad she doesn't ask questions right now. Maybe it's just not wanting to think about that part of his life. Though part of it is not wanting to get that deep into his family until he gets to know her better.

Maybe then she won't be as likely to run screaming into the night as many others have done. Or would have if he had let them.

He smiles as she steps out, a genuine look in his eyes as he nods. "I think you look positively stunning. What do you think?"

Because even as locked up as he's been, he knows that matters more than what he thinks.

"Our own party in the fall? For just the supernatural forces in town?"
