Before Duplicity, Caleb wouldn't have been surprised to have learned of a witch from another family but he wouldn't have believed in someone that had watched the centuries turn from one year to the next. A witch untouched by a curse, by a family legacy of addiction and death.
So he's hunted and searched and when he receives a not telling him to go to a certain place at a certain time, he does what he's told. Maybe it's a trap, but he can't help it. He has to know. There has to be a way.
He goes to the place and asks for Katinen. He's both still surprised and yet excited when there's no question, just taking him to a table.
He pauses a moment, considering the man sitting there before he walks up but doesn't assume he's welcome to take a seat. Not yet.
