It likely depends on the university and whether they've gotten tenure yet or not, but I'm sure some professors consider it part of their eccentric personality.

I can't let myself get too predictable, can I? I might as well relish in the mockery of others, just to keep them on their toes.

You might as well otherwise life is too dull and grey. And Ketterdam's weather provides enough of the grey.

Pajamas in public does send a particular 'no longer caring' message, which I applaud in some cases.

Although I wouldn't want to wear them in Ketterdam's weather, especially right now. Even the bottoms of my pants get caked in mud when walking through certain places.

No, I wouldn't want to in Ketterdam either. I've had plenty of pants get caked in mud there and other places like it.

It's a bit on the nose, isn't it? Nobody leaving Ketterdam without getting caked in literal mud.

I think it really needs to be added to the visitors guides and marketing materials for Ketterdam.

Ketterdam's Tourism Bureau would just spin it as local mud baths to refresh the skin.
