It had been far too long since Kaz, Piper and himself had all gotten together for just about anything. He saw Piper plenty and he was starting to see Kaz often enough. But for the three of them?

When was the last time they were all in the same room together?

It had to be before they had taken out Tempest the the former King. After that, everything quickly spiraled. His (unlife) had changed what with taking over the Underworld.

More surprising of them all, Piper had found herself back in New Orleans and she was enjoying it. Not only that but claiming it as her own. Adonis didn't think that would ever actually happen.

And Kaz, it appeared to Adonis, always kept himself busy.

This was partly why Adonis only appeared hesitant to allow Piper to come to the cooking lesson he was giving Kaz.

His plan for tonight was fettuccini alfredo - it would be an easier one for him to make and then next time, because hopefully there would be a next time, he'd want to teach him a curry that had potatoes.

Maybe it was just an excuse to get them all together again, who knows? He needed something other than the literal demons he works with to look forward to.

Adonis teleports himself and Kaz to his penthouse in London the night they all came to agree to and steps back from the other man. "Piper is around here somewhere. No doubt stowing away a bottle or two of whiskey to take back with her, the little magpie," he says, looking around for the witch who made it a habit to nick his bottles of whiskey and take them home with her. "One day I'll have to water the whiskey down and see if she notices."

"First of all, I don't "stow" away anything. You leave far too easy to access. And secondly, I would definitely notice if you watered it down - why would you do that to good whiskey anyway? It's a sacrilege," Piper says, walking into the open space of the living room and sending a grin to Kaz.

"Welcome back to Adonis' obnoxious penthouse. You get everything you needed done in Ravka?" They've talked of course in between but it was always good to hear it from him and not just through text messages.

It had been a while since she'd been back in the US - not since she'd finally gone over to make peace with everything that'd happen. Since then, Piper had been staying at either Adonis' stupid and ridiculous penthouse or the house that she'd promise to return more often. But it was okay. More importantly she was okay. Or would be.

She had made a decision to herself around Halloween, that she would return to the places that she'd put off for so long, being too afraid of the memories that had haunted her on occasion.

Truth be told, Piper had hesitated on taking Shelby up on her offer of visiting. It was one thing to meet in the Nexus where whoever may be still out for Piper's blood decidedly wasn't but it was another to bring any potential trouble to Shelby's literal front door. Which was why when she decided to visit Indianapolis, a city she hadn't been to in a number of years, she opted to stay at least the first night in a hotel in downtown Indianapolis. This gave her plenty of time to get a good feel of the city and see if it was a hotbed of supernatural activity - or if she'd have anything to worry about. She didn't get this far by being laxed in her own personal safety. Piper was sure that most ended up closer to Chicago which was only a few hours away.

Once she was settled into her room, somewhere around mid afternoon, Piper pulled out her phone and shot a text over to Shelby.

Hey, I know this is random but I'm in Indianapolis for a few days. Are you free for dinner and/or drinks?

She didn't want to put pressure on the other woman by any means, especially since it was her who randomly showed up in town.

Piper had been the one to suggest the ghost tour and make sure that Kol would be on his best behavior. Which, when it came down to it, all she asked was he didn't bite any of the guests until after the tour. The day before, she had actually been looking forward to it too. She supposed it was only fitting. She had always enjoyed verbal sparring with others and doubly enjoyed anyone who could keep up with her.

That morning, she had gotten up and gone to the cabin where it had all started. Adonis had met her there, told her a bit of the history he and David had found all those years ago after the fact and talked to the little ghost girl who had remained. She'd seemed disappointed that Jordan wasn't with her and she couldn't bring herself to tell the ghost of all things that Jordan wouldn't be returning. Throughout it, she'd felt fine.

That was, until she'd returned to her hotel to get ready for that evening.

Within an hour or two, she'd started to feel lethargic and felt she needed to blast the AC, it was so warm in her room. Piper knew she needed to get up and at least look human even if she didn't particularly feel very human. She shot off a quick text to Kol (though she wasn't sure why she shared that bit of information with him) before leaving her room with everything she needed - phone, wallet... a knife just in case.

It was still warm and humid out for New Orleans but somehow, Piper felt even hotter. This wasn't a feeling she'd experienced since... well, before they had died. She wasn't going to assume it was that (though there was a very small part of her that was hopeful). She pushed all that aside as she came up on Kol just minutes after the last text and gave him a grin. "So, have I been ditched for a bachelorette party?"
